The Floating Dwaraka — a circular brick residence around a central water court

Signature Villa · MICASA, Kanakapura

The Floating Dwaraka

A home built around water, sky and silence.

Type One · A story older than the city

Inspired by the timeless Indian vision of living in harmony with nature, Floating Dwaraka is one of MICASA's signature farmhouse typologies — a sanctuary where architecture dissolves into the landscape, and every moment becomes an experience of peace, reflection and connection.

Built around a circle

A private water court, at its heart.

Much like the legendary city of Dwaraka, where life flourished alongside water, this circular residence embraces a tranquil pond at its centre — one that mirrors the sky and turns the courtyard into a quiet conversation between water, light and architecture.

The circular form symbolises completeness, unity and continuity. Every room stays visually and emotionally connected to the water court, so nature is never outside the window — it becomes part of daily living.

A day at Dwaraka

Lived around the water.

Dawn

Chanting by the water, before the world wakes

Mist rises off the courtyard pond as the first light slips through the open roof.

Morning

Coffee on the shaded veranda

The circle holds the cool air; birdsong carries across the still water.

Afternoon

Rain into the courtyard pond

Dragonflies skim the surface; the room and the garden become one.

Night

Moonlight, reflected in the pond

The water mirrors the sky, and the house seems to float in the dark.

A home that doesn't sit on the landscape, but gently floats within it.
